Mother nature…

Can sure change plans in a hurry. I planned on raking the yard today, but when I got up I was presented with a white washed wonderland. So here we are in March with one of our larger snow falls of this winter. We must have made the neighbor with the snow blower mad or something because he didn’t snowblow our walk way. So we were forced to get out and shovel our drive way and sidewalk. Really it wasn’t that big of a deal and it turned out to be enjoyable. And afterwards here’s what we created (may not be suitable for some ages…and no the hooters were not my idea…they were the wifes…okay I was thinking it but she beat me to it!)

Snowman!

We’ll probably get snow before it gets warm here again. It was cold outside today. Much too cold to be March in the South.

Patrick, I doubt you’ll get snow, but I guess stranger things have happened. When living in Montana we got snow in August one time if you can believe that. Didn’t stay around, but it did snow!

The blizzard of 93 hit about this time when it hit. If I remember correctly it was March because I don’t think we got Spring Break that year. I just wish it would warm up so I could get the top off the Jeep.

I don’t remember the Blizzard of 93…must just be in the south. I remember one in Montana in 95/96 that dumped like 3.5 feet the week before Thanksgiving. Made for some very interesting and hard hunting.

There was one blizzard in TN in my lifetime. March of 1993. It dumped about 2-3 feet in one night and they had not predicted it. We woke up without electricity, running water, or a telephone. We were out of school for close to 10 days. It really hit hard and the county (pop. approx. 300,000) only has one snow plow. It was a rough week.

Jen, a storm like that would have got us out of school for awhile as well, but not that long. I think it has to do with the preperation’s that differ by climate.
