Weekend movies
Sunday the wife and I didn’t do a whole lot. I’d like to say that it was because we were out partying all night for her birthday, but that was not the case. We were just lazy. The best that we could do was get out and rent a couple of movies.
The Ice Harvest - This movie pairs John Cussack and Bill Bob Thornton again. I usually like John Cusack movies, but this one was just blah. I guess it requires a different sense of humor. In short it’s about ripping off a mob boss and trying to get away with it. Of course there is a lot of twists and turns, but anyone should be able to figure it out. If you’ve got nothing better to watch then this one might be worth a rental. I’d give it a 5 out of 10.
Just Friends - Apparently we saw this movie previewed somewhere, but for the life of me I can’t remember. It stars Ryan Reynolds and Amy Smart. In high school, 10 years earlier, Reynolds was the fat cheerleader (is there such a thing?) that was great friends with Amy Smart. He wanted to take things further at the graduaction keggar, but got laughed out of town. Fast foward 10 years he’s now a famous record executive and he arrives in his home town and bumps into Amy Smart. I haven’t watched a lot of Ryan Reynolds stuff, but the stuff that I have seen has been pretty damn good. This one was no exception. It provided a lot of good laughs. Not a movie to pay and see at the theatre, but well worth a rental. I’d give it a 6 out of 10.
Hope everyone had a good weekend.
