I can’t dance!

Dancing BuddhaI have a confession to make: I can’t dance (Insert Phil Collins/Genesis song). Why am I bringing this up? Well awhile back I mentioned that we are going to San Francisco for a cousins wedding. That usually means there is going to be some kind of dancing..planned or not. And the wife likes to dance. Sure if it’s a slow song I can get around (wife might say something different about that), but anything other than that and I am totally out of it. God blessed me with no sense of rythem when it comes to music and I also received 2 left feet for dancing. So although I’m looking forward to going to San Fran, I’m a bit nervous about this whole situation because it usually leaves the wife a bit irrated (those talking to the wife need not mention this post to her!!). I could have a possible out since my dad is going to be taking pictures of the event and I’m sure he’ll need some sort of helper, but again I don’t think that one’s going to float. The other option that I can think of is to try and get some lessons between now and then. Not sure it will happen, but it’s an option that we’ve actually talked about. The last option is that I could down about 6 Long Island Ice Teas and be the life of the party! So what should it be? Any and all advice will be taken!

I think it’d be cheaper and more fun to go the Long Island Ice Tea route. Everyone dancing at weddings is pretty much drunk anyway, plus the dance floor is usually kind of small, everyone has to kind of cram in there…no one is going to notice your lack of ability..or care for that matter. Plus if they do notice just think of it as you providing a little added entertainment.

Watch Wedding Crashers again. Learn to dance like they do, and drink lots and lots of tequila…straight tequila. If you can’t dance on tequila, you can’t dance. I’ve taken ballroom dancing before but it doesn’t help much. I’m still just as white as you are…if not more.

Two votes for drinking as much as possible and going that route. Not what I was expecting, but probably the best answer. Patrick - At least you’ve taken some dancing lessons…I’ve never done anything musical or in the realm of dancing. We did step aerobics in 9th grade…oh my gosh I looked horrible. And to top it off they wanted people to lead the class…hah!
