I made it!

Well I made it through my first weekend class. I had my doubts that I was going to make it, but I kept my mouth shut and made it through.

The rest of this weekend I think is going to be spent power vegging.

The wife and I had planned on going fishing today, but we decided we were going to stay home and veg. We’ll also probably go and see X-Men 3. Earlier this week we went and saw The DaVinci Code, which I thought they did a good job of. It’s been awhile since I read the book, but from what I remember of the book it was somewhat close. Of course they aren’t going to have all of the detail, but they got the main points that someone who read it is going to remember.

While I was listening to some feminism rhetoric yesterday the wife went down to the farmers market and got us some buffalo meet. Anyone ever had buffalo meet? I haven’t, but I’m looking and trying this to see how it is.

Evangaline LillyWe also started watching Lost Season 1 last night. I’m not as addicted as I was lead to believe I would be, but it’s pretty decent. Of course looking at Evangaline Lilly always helps. Her character is pretty interesting. Don’t know a whole lot about her at this point, but perhaps disk 2 will explain more (I suspect this will get watched today or tomorrow!). And what the hell is up with a polar bear on a tropical island. I’ve read a bit of the hype about Lost, so I know that people are saying it’s like a different dimension or something like that. I guess the finale of this season answered some of the questions, but unfortunately I won’t be able to see it until who knows when.

We haven’t gotten in to Lost yet. I think we need one night of TV that we don’t have to watch anything. We call that movie night. However, Evangeline is certainly easy on the eyes…very easy on the eyes.

I do like some bison so I jump on it whenever I get the chance here. It’s a rarity. Looks like we’re flying in to Des Moines on either the Thursday or Friday before Labor day. Hopefully at some point during the weekend we can catch up. We’ve got a wedding that Saturday, but maybe we can work something out.

We are just about done with Lost Disc 2 and I’m getting hooked, but still not something I HAVE to watch. As for the trip to Iowa…we’ll have to see what we can do. I think a co-worker of mine is getting married that weekend (Sunday of all days) so we may have to do some creative planning.

Lost is my favorite show of all time; it’s awesome. The weird thing about Evangeline Lilly is that she looks better on the show than she does in real life. Not that I’ve seen her in real life, but I mean that in interviews when she’s all dolled up she doesn’t look good as she does all dirty and gross on the show.

Chas - I agree with your thoughts on Lilly. She does look pretty on the show…rugged perhaps. We just got disc 3 and 4 of season 1 today…so we will hopefully finish the season 1 up next week!
