Pulled the trigger!

Well we pulled the trigger today and bought a vehicle. And it’s a Jeep Patrick! So now I get to see how Jeeps hold up. I’ve attached some of the pictures that I took before it poured down rain and hailed as well. I do have to report however that the Jeep did considerably well going through the streams that were actually the streets! Now I need to find some big mountain to climb.

Jeep 1

Jeep 2

Jeep 3

I have to say I like your decision. If you didn’t know, it’s the same thing as the Mercedes M Class with Jeep badges on it so I think they’re pretty good as far as reliability goes. Did you get the 3.7L or the CRD? Either way, looks nice. Glad to see you’re in a Jeep.

Patrick - I knew you’d like the decision! Hummm…interesting comment about the Mercedes M Class. Can you find out for sure on that? Or point me in the right direction.

I had to go with the 3.7L (V6)…it goes. I like it. What does CRD stand for?

Do I need to get a sticker that says “It’s a Jeep Thing” now?!?!?

CRD is Common Rail Diesel. The 3.7 is a good engine, and it’s German engineered. They’re replacing the legendary 4.0 Inline six from the Wranglers with it next year. Not sure why, so it must be pretty stout. Yes, you need an It’s a Jeep thing sticker now because you’re a member of the elite.

As far as information on the M-Class, well, go check out an M-Class. Same chassis, same electronics, interior is a little less cushy in the Jeeps, but they’re the same car. Park them side by side, open the hoods, you’ll see. When the Liberty’s first came out they had German instructions under the hood. I guess that got overlooked when the first round left Stutgart. Don’t know if they still are or not, but trust me, they’re the same.

Well you make me feel more confident about this purchase! Thanks for the info. I’ll do some more research on it.
