Some new sticks
Earlier this week I went down to a local golf shop and got measured for a new pair of golf clubs. When I left I was told that they wouldn’t be done until the 15th of this month. Which was fine, but as it turned out they were done yesterday. So I picked them up and this afternoon I took them out to the range and saw if they were worth the money I paid for them. They are pretty good when I don’t try and it them hard. They actually go in the right direction. I do need to get a couple of new clubs before I’ll be complete and ready to hit the tour. Okay no tour, but I’d like to get my handicap back. Handicap for those that don’t know is a rating based on the approximate number of strokes over par you shoot. Once upon a time I was about a 12 handicap which means on a par 72 course I would average 84. Not great, but better than most people out there playing golf. I’d love to get back to a 12 and perhaps lower. My little brother is a scratch golfer which means he’s shooting par or he’s under par most of the time.
As a side note. I told one of the guys at work I had ordered some new sticks and he told me that he had some sticks in his yard that he’d sell me at half price. I laughed and informed him that I meant golf clubs.
The NFL season has kicked off, which is awesome. Means I’ll be yelling and screaming at the TV and not cheering for a single team to win!! Why won’t I be cheering for a single team? Well for fantasy football of course. I played fantasy football back when I was in 7th grade, I believe, and it was tracked on paper. Now that it’s on the internet it’s so much more fun. This year I’m running 2 teams. One for work and another for a league that I’ve played in for probably 7 years now. I have yet to win one championship, but this year I think is going to be my year. Well at least I hope it’s going to be my year.
I know I’ve said it before, but I’ll try and update a little more often. I should be able to manage at least 3 posts a week, but I promise you that you’ll be bored to tears with them.
