I started up a fire tonight and just zoned out into it. I needed to get away from the computer and TV and commune, if you will, with nature. It’s something I’ve been thinking about for awhile now. Back when I went to “boot camp” we were given time to go away and meditate on the Bible and such. I found myself a spot where I could sit up against a tree and look out across the lake. There were no cars whizzing by and no other noises other than those that God intended to be there. So I’ve been trying to duplicate this but it’s going to have to be satisfied with a fire pit in the back yard and cars whizzing by and a Harley thinking everyone loves to hear him rev his engine.

Any how that got me thinking about the perfect or dream vacation. I think everyone changes their mind on this, but at the moment here’s mine.

A cabin in the back woods on a lake with a stream or river flowing into it. It’s a log cabin that has everything. Each morning would start out by fly fishing on the stream or the lake. The lake would produce nothing but 2-5 pound trout. Late mornings would consist of sitting on the deck watching the lake and reading a book. Nights would consist of camp fires and zoning out every now and then while eating smores. Also a good amount of time would be spent looking at the stars and being amazed at how many more stars there are when you are not in a city.
