Untitled story (pt 4)

As always raw and uneditted! And fiction as well!

The next morning after a big breakfast I pulled into the parking lot of FT Technology. At least I thought it was the parking lot of FT Technology but the sign on the front of the door said differently.

I dialed Teresa and asked her where the company had moved to. She told me it was on the other side of town up by the hospital where the new growth was going on.

I proceeded over there as fast as I could and met her just as she was climbing out of her brand new Mercedes.

“Nice car,” I said.

“Thanks.”

Don had started FT Technology about 15 years prior when he saw where the computer industry was headed. The company had grown slowly over the years, but by looking at the building it was apparent that Don had made the right choice because the building they were in now had to have been 3 times the size it was 10 years ago.

Teresa walked in like she owned the place, and I’m sure she did own part of it, but on the other hand I doubt that Don would have given her a controlling share.

“Hello Teresa,” A secretary said to us as we stepped into the lobby.

Teresa said nothing and blasted past her.

“Hi,” I said to the secretary. “I’m Jack…”

“I know who you are. You don’t remember me do you?” The secretary asked.

I looked at her for a moment trying to place her somewhere, but I couldn’t.

“I’m sorry but I don’t remember.”

“We went to high school together. Heather Smith.”

And then it clicked.
