TV or Computer?

So as most know I haven’t posted on here in what seems like a decade. I just feel like I don’t have a whole lot to say (at least anything that would be interesting!). So I have some time now and some things that I think I’ll post up.

  • You know Martin Luther King Jr’s I have a dream speech and what it’s about? Well you could extrapolate this to the place that I work. We have hired some new people at the office (it was time) and I was helping them out with getting connected to the servers. We couldn’t get FTP’d into one server so I went and asked a systems administrator about it since I couldn’t do anything (we have NO permissions to do anything…) about it. You’d think that I was asking him to change water into wine. In the end I felt like I was about 2 inches tall. Just really frustrating. I talked to some other people at work about it and they agreed. There seems to be a large gap between the various different departments. Especially systems administrators and everyone else. I know that systems admins have to be the bad guys but you don’t have to be assholes about it, but these guys are.
  • Started watching Entourage this week. A decent show. I’ll watch all 3 seasons of it, but it’s not something I will probably watch on a regular basis while it’s on HBO. It just doesn’t have enough continuity. If you look movies and wonder what the Hollywood life is about you’ll enjoy this show.
  • mary louis parkerLast night we started watching Weeds…another TV show on Showtime (Netflix is AWESOME by the way!). Hillarious show. I would recommend watching this. It’s just so out of the norm..or is it? Here’s a quick synopsis if you haven’t heard about it. A suburban wife loses her husband (guy who plays the husband seems to only pick up rolls where he dies…he’s the guy who dies in Greys Anatomy!) and has no way of making a living (think bimbos..). So she starts dealing Pot to the local community. There’s a lot of other stuff going on, but that should make you want to watch it…or maybe not. It’s worth at least watching the first season (10 episodes I believe). I never thought I’d say this but Mary Louis Parker doesn’t look half bad in it either.

Netflix is great for getting old TV shows you haven’t seen and watching them. We do this mainly in the summer when our shows are on reruns. We watched two seasons of House and got addicted to the third season pretty quick. Not much to report on our end either, but glad to see all is well with you.

Yeah I agree…I should probably go and watch some old shows that I missed while growing up. But right now I’ve got more than enough to watch!
