For some reason the last couple of weekends have seemed extremely short for one reason or another. Maybe it’s the time of the year or maybe it’s the fact that I’ve been somewhat busy. I don’t know, but I don’t like it. I’d much rather have a three day weekend than a 5 day work week. I wonder if that’s something that I could get changed. Probably not.

Work is going fairly well. I’ve been developing quite a bit lately. The new guy is trained and on his way. Interesting to note that the new building that we moved into in April only has 6 open desks now. And if I had to take a guess I’d say those will be filled in about 6 months or so. That’s how fast we are hiring people. Thats a good thing, I think, because the technical staff has been run so slim for some many years. Now it’s to a point where they’ve got to bring people on if they want to add any new development. I’m predicting that the organization on the tech staff is going to have to change in some way. I know when I was the tech manager, all other issues aside which added a BUNCH of stress, it was hard trying to manage the 8-10 people that reported to me. And now each of the departments is heading into this area.

The wife and I and a few friends are going out tonight. Going to go and see The Prestige and then get some dinner. It’s been awhile since we’ve been out with this couple (I work with them) so it should be enjoyable.
