I was going to write something about families and how interesting they can be, but I thought some might get offended so for right now I’m going to leave it in my head.

Yesterday we had rain like a July thunderstorm. I’m told that it’s going to get pretty damn cold tomorrow or this weekend. I’m all for it. As I said somewhere else I can’t imagine not having Christmas without some sort of snow. Even if it’s a pile that the snowplows plowed up.

We have the company Christmas party next weekend. It’s on a place called The Rock Island Arsenal (military base). Prior to 9/11 you could drive through the Arsenal without any issues. Now you can’t drive on it unless you have a reason. So this year we have our Christmas party there. It should be interesting. Even more interesting because I’ve been told by a source that the cops on the island (military police I believe) are sticklers about drinking and driving (in other words they don’t really need a reason to pull you over). I’m not one to drink and drive, but I like to have a couple of drinks. Knowing this will probably put a halt on the drinking (which honestly there’s another story there that I won’t share at this time) until we get off of the Island. I’m sure I will have more to report once the party has happened.
