Day 2: Big Mountain and Beyond

Big Mountain - Chair 3It was another day of exploring yesterday…about all that you can do in the winter in Montana. We drove up to Whitefish which is north of Kalispell. This is the “rich” town. New houses starting at 250K+. What a deal!! My parents told me that there was a article in the paper that said 200K+ houses are not starter houses and they needed to do something about it. Go figure.

After going around Whitefish we headed up to Big Mountain. This place has also changed a lot. Almost every winter we’d get to go up on Big Mountain and stay for a weekend. It wasn’t glamorous but we enjoyed ourselves. Now if you want to go up there and ski you’d better own the bank because it’s very expensive. I didn’t find the ticket prices but when we used to ski it was around 25 dollars for an all day lift ticket.

Today I’m going to go and meet up with a guy that I went to church with and went to school with. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen him and from the pictures I found on MySpace he looks nothing like what he looked like in high school! It should be a good time. We are going to get some pizza at the famouse Mooses on main street. If anyone ever visits Kalispell you need to go into Mooses. Its awesome. A word of warning…just don’t blow the horn!

Well I think that’s about all that I have to report for yesterday.
