Day 5 & 6
Day 5 found us at my nieces birthday party. It was her 10th birthday. How she has grown up since I first saw her when my wife and I were dating. I hope that we’ll be able to get home a bit more often so that we can see them and our other nieces and nephews grow up. We did get asked if we were going to have kids by a couple of people on this trip. It’s a topic we usually try and avoid but it came up.
Day 6, today, found me saying good by to parts of my wifes family since they will not be able to see us off at the airport. I’ll be honest with you I’m not a big fan of kids, but having spent more time around them on this trip was a lot of fun. I also think I let my hair down a bit and that helped. All of the kids were a lot more well behaved than I thought they would be. So to the parents, you know who you are, you are doing a great job.
I just finished watching the super bowl and I’m glad to see that the Colts won. Peyton deserved it and now I hope we can go beyond the “Manning has never won a Super Bowl” thing. The commercials were okay. I thought the best one’s were the careerbuilder.com commercials, but there was on Dorito’s commercial that I thought was pretty good.
Tomorrow the trip home begins. Keep your fingers crossed that we will be able to get out of here. It was snowing while we watched the game.
