Dancing…dancing!

Ballroom DancingLast night I called up the local Arthur Murray Dance school to see about dance lessons for my wife and I. A bubbly girl answered the phone and asked what type of dance lessons we were looking for.

I replied “Clumsy husband lessons.” She got a good laugh out of it.

So anyways tomorrow evening, Valentines day, the wife and I are going to get our introductory lesson. It should be very interesting. Hopefully I don’t step on to many toes!

By the way…the weather man was sort of right. We got somewhere between 3 and 7 inches of snow (probably around 4 inches). But it didn’t happen until today.

Good luck with that. We took dance lessons one night. My wife and I both like to lead so it was an arm wrestling match with some occasional toe stepping. Hope it goes well for you.

LOL!!! Well we’ll see how this goes. It should be interesting. And I’m sure one of us will step on the others foot!

You’ll get to see the pictures when I win Dancing with the Stars…but first I’ve got to be a star or become a really good dancer in short order!

Actually they made it really easy and it was a TON of fun actually.

That’s so awesome! It takes a real man to get out there on the dance floor and not be afraid to make a fool out of himself (which is inevitable at some point during the learning process). And on Valentine’s Day, too! Tres romantique!

Thanks Becky. I’m still a bit self concsious, but over time I’m sure I’ll lose that and be able to cut a rug!

Yes indeed, Chris. As someone who does a lot of dance-y exercise videos in the privacy of the living room, I can definitely say that regular practice helps. It seems like dance is, in some ways, just another skill, and uses the same learning processes that any other new skill would need, as well. And the regular practice also helps one get over a fear of looking foolish. This is a big step for the 2 of you, as I recall some of your earlier comments about you and dancing. :-)
