Texas might have it right?

I ran across this article today and I thought “maybe Texas does have it right”.  I’ve heard from a good friend that his neighborhood is now become gangland or close to it (multiple gunshots being fired while he was away from the house and other stuff that went on).  I also heard reports that there was some sort of reporter that was around a bunch of gun fire.  And we have a bunch of rental houses below us that doesn’t carry the must outstanding of citizens.

Now I’m not saying what Texas did is right, but I’d like to think that if someone was thinking about carjacking you or breaking into your house that if they knew you’d have a 45 or a 12 gauge shotgun loaded with double ought buck that they would think twice about doing it.  The downside that I see to this is that people might get trigger happy (this was something that happened to some neighbors of my parents.  Guy served 4 or 5 years in prison I believe).

I guess it’s my redneck coming out!

I think I’m with you on this one…but from what I hear I’m a bit of a redneck too. Someone would have to think twice about car jacking or robbing you, but maybe that’s the intent. Tennessee just got voted number two in the nation on brutal assaults so maybe we need to pass this law too.

Wow…number 2 in the nation for brutal assaults. Yeah I think you guys need a law like that. So does Iowa from what I’m hearing.
