Spiderman 3
Last night after the wife got off of work, we went to the 10pm showing of Spiderman 3. We’ve never been to a late show like this (except drive-ins), so it was interesting and scary at the same time. We were early enough that we were able to snag the very back row of seats so no one would be behind us. At about 10 minutes to 10, about 8-12 young african american teenagers come in being louder than the whole assembled crowd. This usually seems to be the case when I’ve been around them. We weren’t close to them so it didn’t bother us for the most part.
The movie started (no great previews) and we are entertained. This version is a bit more introspective than compared to the other 2. In my opinion of course. Still a good movie, but there’s no really high intense action sequences like in the last 2. Still a good movie and I recommend seeing it. But I do have to say that the last 3 or 4 minutes we missed. And heres why.
So the end is near and all of a sudden one of these african american kids gets up and starts beating the crap out of another kid. Just jumps up and lays in a few good punches. If you want to see a theatre clear out quickly…have that happen. There were little kids at this movie (3 and 4 years old) and this happened. It stopped as quickly as it started but it was still a bit scary. There were quite a few pissed people walking out of the theatre with us. We were pissed as well. This will sound bad, but honestly the theatre should have done something before hand. Groups of teenagers is a bad idea (do I need to add African American groups?) and the theatre should have sent in the sheriff to calm them down. But nothing happened until after the beating happened. So yeah…from now on we’ll be going to matinees or just staying home. I’m tired of putting up with this crap (as is one of the silent readers of this blog…so bad in fact that he’s possibly going to be moving). I could really go off on these situations, but I’m not going to.
I also went golfing yesterday. After a $100 shopping spree I headed to my favorite course and got in 18 holes. I played pretty dang good. Had some bad holes that I shouldn’t have had, but I did. Through all of it I managed a 86. I could have easily been a low 80’s round. Just missed about 5 putts by mere inches. Next time perhaps.
