Dancing Dorks!

Okay so we aren’t total dorks, but a lot of our conversations now days revolves around dancing.  Additionally any time that I’m listening to music I’m counting out the beat and trying to figure out if it’s a tango, rumba, swing or a foxtrot so something else that I have not clue. And any money that we had in our iTunes accounts..yeah you guessed it. We have bought songs that we can dance to.  Latest find is the tango that was played in Shall We Dance with Richard Gere.  It’s awesome. But honestly we are not that much of dorks (snobs perhaps?) compared to this guy! This guy does tango, the argentine kind and it’s hard.  We did it one night and it’s really hard compared to the regular tango!

We had a private on Wednesday that was pretty good and lasted a bit longer than the normal time. A step was added to the foxtrot that just makes it rock.  It’s basically a rumba step which means I can turn it so we aren’t going in a straight line all the time!  Additionally we learned the wrap in the swing.  We need to work on that.  Did a practice dance on Thursday that we rocked.  Basically we were able to do the whole dance without running into anyone.  First time that’s happened. Tonight we had a newcomers class were we did the single swing.  Single swing sounds easy, but it’s not. The reason it’s not easy is because it’s FAST. And by fast I mean it’s some of the fastest music you’ll hear.  But we did pretty good. To top it off I talked the wife in to staying for the “advanced” dance tonight. Again we rocked.  Did 3 foxtrots and 3 rumbas and we didn’t run into anyone. There were a couple of close calls but from where we started out at…yeah we’ve come leaps and bounds.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.  I’m going to try and get some relaxing in and perhaps around of golf as well.   Oh and Pirates #3 on Sunday.
