Little Old School Batman

Nicholson as The JokerWhile relaxing tonight I happened upon Batman with none other than Michael Keaton (who knows what he’s doing now?) and Jack Nicholson. I remember seeing this movie in the theatre and thinking it was great. So much in fact that I went out and bought the sound track that was all by Prince. I’m not sure I’d think it was a great soundtrack now, but it was back then. Loved that soundtrack. Any how like I said it was a good movie for it’s time but the last Batman that they made with Christian Bale just blows this out of the water. However we are not comparing apples to apples. The next Batman movie will be a better comparison.

So here’s a few comparisons of old vs new.

Christian Bale beats Keaton hands down on the Batman role (and every other player of Batman for my generation. For those wanting to know that is: Keaton, Kilmer and Clooney).

Heath Ledger may have made his way up the totem pole with Brokeback Mountain (and other poles…bad joke I know), but I don’t think he’ll top Nicholson as The Joker.  The story overall might be better in this new one, but acting wise I think Nicholson wins this one hands down.

Hotties of the movies…Kim Bassinger vs Maggie Gyllenhaal (my new favorite). Again at the time I thought Bassinger was to die for, but Maggie has moved up a bit on my list of hotties as of late.  Not sure why but she has.

So there you have it…yeah a little bit odd for me, but oh well.  I need to think about something other than high winds, pulling branches to the gutter and sawing branches.  Yeah we had another nasty storm here last night. Worst one since I’ve lived out here.

I’m going to bed now!

I dig the old batman…and you may have just put me in the mood to watch it again. However, the new one (has the car that my dog is named after) is probably one of my top five favorite movies ever made with 300 currently taking the top spot. I think I’d have to agree with you one hundred percent on all fronts on this one…even the bad pole jokes.

I thought you’d agree with me! As for Tumbler…i totally forgot that. You never mentioned that when talking about names!

Well, it could go either way. It could be the Scott Caan character from Gone in 60 Seconds (another favorite), but we were thinking of the batmobile originally. If I was that big of a Scott Caan fan I’d get another dog (Rottweiler) and name it Tweeder after his character in Varsity Blues. But we might get him a female friend (hopefully a Rottweiler) and name her Sway (think 25th Hour) or something along those lines. Where are you guys on a big dog? Tell your wife not to worry, if she wants a lap dog and other mastiffs have the temperament of this one, they’ll still sit in your lap and sleep.

2 dogs eh? Well I think we’ll have 2 at some point.

Tumblers a lap dog…hummm….I haven’t mentioned that. She’s dead set on that little dog…so I suspect we will end up with one of each (1 big and 1 small).

Yeah, Tumbler likes to sleep in the lap. I think he might not know he’s too big for the lap when he’s 150lbs, but we’ll see. For now he sleeps a lot and likes to be as close as possible. The only animal he’s met he wasn’t friends with was the neighbors cat…because that cat hates everyone and everything.

That’s so funny that he likes to sleep in the lap. Cool, but funny.

And the cats not liking him…that’s not surprising. We have one cat that would love a dog to death and one that wouldn’t.

I think it’s time for more pictures of Tumbler. :)

I’ll work on those this weekend. Should have him out and about for some good photo ops with his new cousin Milo the Lab.
