Photos from Cheyenne
I made a trip out to Cheyenne a few weeks ago to interview and see the area (my wife wasn’t able to make the trip so she’s making this move cold turkey…what a trooper…I don’t know what I’d do without her). While out there I was able to get a few pictures (remind me to tell you about the trip out there!). At first glance it’s not a beautiful place, but when we moved to Iowa we said the same exact thing. But it grew on us and I suspect that Cheyenne will grow on us. I enjoy the “big” city that the Quad Cities provides, but there are certain things I am looking forward to in Cheyenne. For instance it won’t take me 20 minutes to get to work. More like…oh 5 minutes. How awesome is that? It’s small things. And as my mom said from their moves: It’s not so much the scenery as it is the people there. So far I’ve met some pretty good people out there, but only time will tell in that area!
However I’d also be remiss if I didn’t say anything about all of the people we are going to miss out here. Originally we had refused the job in Cheyenne due to a lot of things, but one of the biggest things in my mind was the friendships that we’ve built. Despite some of them being in their infancy stage (if you will) I feel like they could grow into something great. Hopefully we will continue to be friends with everyone back here and make a trip or 2 back.
Looking back into Cheyenne. It’s flat, but the mountains are out there…somewhere!
Cheyenne is a railroad town (and a cowboy town!).
The large white building on the right in the distance…Wal-Mart storage facility. They turn everyone over in this HUGE building every 72 hours. Really busy!
I’ll have a ton more pictures once we get out there, but for right now this is it. We tenatively have a plan set out. We should be in Cheyenne by the middle of next month and begin the wonderful house shopping. With any luck our house will sell here (on the market tomorrow) and we won’t have to worry about dual house payments for awhile. I know in the end things will work out for the better but right now stress is running pretty high around here!
