Day 1: Packing and lots of it!
Today was the first day that I’ve been unemployed in nearly 10 years. It’s only temporary, but it’s started to bother me a little bit. It’s a good thing that we’ve got a ton of things to do before we leave on Saturday.
Today found us attempting to get my license renewed but they were closed due to Columbus Day. So that’s on for tomorrow. After a few more errands we went back to the house to begin packing. We’d packed some stuff last week, but today was the start of the major work. If you’ve lived in your house for awhile and are even thinking about moving…start getting rid of stuff NOW! We’ve only been in this house 4 years and let me tell you…we have a TON of crap. Our garbage can is totally full and we’ve been stuffing everything into 33 gallon garbage bags (can purchase stickers to set them out with the regular garbage). That’s not to include the multiple trips to the goodwill store we’ve made.  Tomorrow will be more of the same. While packing we did notice a couple of people stop and look at the house which gives us hope that we might actually sell it (we are keeping our fingers crossed on that). We have also been informed that tomorrow a bunch of realtor’s might be walking through the house for the realtor show case. So the house has to be clean…HAH! We’ve got boxes everywhere right now. Is that clean? Probably not, but that’s the way it’s going to be.
More tomorrow…if I have the energy. Right now I could fall asleep without any problem!
