Day 9: Making Due

So we are in this apartment that is attached to a motel. It has a living room, dining room, a bedroom and a kitchen.  It’s a bit “oldish”.  By “oldish” I mean that the walls are this pukey color green and it smells old.  When we arrived we checked the kitchen to see what was here.  The basics were there: plates, cups, forks, knives, and a couple of other things.  So we went and bought a few things we needed like a can opener.  This morning the wife wanted pancakes and being the wonderful husband that I am I said I’d make them.  However what I didn’t realize is that there was nothing to make it in. So the brand new 3 quart pot was put to use as a mixing pot and the new spatulas were use to mix the mix up (no measuring spoons either!).  The pancakes turned out just fine, but I was amused with all of the different things that I had to use, since I didn’t have the “normal” things to use.

We did more house looking today.  We found 1 house that we are leaning towards (link).  Tomorrow we are going to drive by 10-12 places and see if there’s anymore that we want to look at.   Right now we are at the stage of nothing has had everything we want.  Each house has it’s good things and each has it’s bad things.  If we could combine a couple of them I think we’d be signing on the line!

I also stopped by work today to drop off a couple of books.  They were having some issues with some of their customers so I tried to help out where I could.  There’s a lot of work that will need to be done right off of the bat, but I’m really looking forward to it.  Odd as that may seem.

Have I mentioned how incredible the fall and the weather has been out here? If not it is AWESOME!  This weekend if we aren’t doing more house hunting stuff I think we are going to go to Rocky Mountain National Park and drive through (pictures of course!).

$149,000?!?!?! Wow….you can’t even get a one bedroom apartment for that here…not a chance….not even an old one!

The house is beautiful….I’d say go for it….especially with all the remodelling!

Lujza - Thanks. We’ve still got a few to look at but it’s at the top of the list right now.

Yeah…that is unbelievable. I live in North Scottsdale and the lowest would be over $300,000.

Mike - Thanks for stopping by. I thought Scottsdale would be a nice place to live, but at that price…I don’t think we’ll be moving there any time soon! Love Scottsdale however.
