2 minutes

Yesterday I timed my drive from the office back to our temporary home.  It took 2 minutes.  I really like that.  However it doesn’t allow me time to listen to my podcasts like I want to.  The new house will be very similar in the fact that it will probably take about 3-5 minutes to get to and from work.  Which means lunch at home and possibly a dog in the future. We just have to agree on what we want. Since we don’t have a large  yard it is probably going to be some sort of small yapper! And I’ll definetly be walking to work in the spring/summer/fall.

We should be signing papers on the house next Tuesday. Not sure when we will be in it because the movers gave us this wonderful time frame of between November 1st and November 6th. Wonderful.  And one more home inspection today.  Hopefully they don’t find anything major.  The heating and plumbing guy found $895 that needs to be done. Couple of them HAVE to be done so we’ll get them done ($500 from the sellers for repairs).

The other day I had posted about the friend of ours that had a mass on his brain.  We found out last night that it looks to be cancerous.  They won’t know for sure until next week, but please keep them in your prayers.  This is the couple that just got married in July.  I can’t imagine what they or anyone else would be going through this early in life.

That’s just awful for your friend….prayers are being said.

As far as a dog goes…you gotta get an Entlebucher….I will definitely get another one in the future! And they’re not huge!

Lujza - I am sure they will appreciate the prayers. Thanks.

As for a dog….I have to convince the wife that we need to get something that weighs more than our cats. So that’s 20+ pounds….yeah we have big cats. I’m just afraid one of our cats (Frodo) will not take to kindly to a dog and will beat the tar out of anything smaller than him. She wants a Yorkie which weighs all of 6 pounds at the most.

Chris - we were concerned that our cat (who was all the “king” of the household before) would be the same way with the dog. There were a few tense moments, but now….they end up sleeping together!!

Lujza - Do you think it would be that way if the dog was smaller? They will probably adapt, but I’m still a bit concerned about it.

Well it’s funny….when we brought Kayce home, she was much smaller than the cat (about 1/2 his size). And the cat was always a funny duddy, “I’m the king of this house” kind of feline. The cat pretty much ignored the dog, the dog would chase the cat. Eventually it stopped being a chase game and is now more of a “let’s play” game. We were really worried in the beginning that the cat might claw out the pups eyes….and when you pay as much as we did for this mutt….well it was a worry. He (the cat) did bring his claws out a couple of times but….it’s amazing what a spray bottle filled with plain old water will do. Oh and…the cat is 3 1/2 years old, so he’s not young…but he’s not ancient either.

Lujza - Thanks for the comments. They help out a lot…or at least give me a bit of hope that our cat’s won’t murder a small dog while we are away at work!
