Serenaded

A few nights again (once again in the library posting!) we were drifting to sleep and as the clock rolled over to 10pm, the bugler started.  I’d not heard it before, but my wife told me that at 7:30 in the morning it happened as well (the charge bugle).  So on Monday’s thru Fridays we are serenaded before drifting asleep with the bugler at the Air Force base (I’m pretty sure it’s just a recording).

I think with all of the little things I’ve done around the house this last week I wouldn’t have any problem getting a construction job.  Okay I haven’t done any major construction, but I’ve replaced just about every door handle in the place and I even ripped apart the Jeep because lo and behold yet another window wouldn’t roll up.  It’s not the one that we had fixed earlier this summer, it’s the one on the passenger’s side this time.  I did a quick search about the problem, and other people have had problems with the rear windows crapping out at around 30K miles.  Our Jeep is at similar mileage.  Apparently there’s just a tiny plastic piece somewhere that makes the window go up and down and despite being tiny it’s VERY expensive.  As $400 expensive to get it fixed.  One of the posts I found said that they just put a clamp on the bar that guides the window up and down, so that’s what I did.  It’s not going to be going down anytime soon and we don’t have the money to fix it right now, so it’s going to have to do.  If we continue to have problems with the Jeep, it might be on it’s way out of our lives, but we’ll see.

Tonight we are going bowling with some people from my work.  The wife is a big nervous, but she’s got nothing to worry about.  I hardly know these people except for the guy I’m working with so it should be interesting.

Well we need to get going.

Well, if you can hear it hopefully it’s a good alarm clock. As far as the Jeep problems go, you might try Jeepsunlimited.com or quadratec.com and you might find a liberty forum there where somebody can help you with a better fix.

Ugg…I think I’d KILL the bugler, recording or not.

Chas - Bugler isn’t that bad, but of course we don’t sleep in that late…so it’s not that bad and they don’t do it on the weekends!
