Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a safe and happy new year.  We were really exciting and stayed home and watched a couple of movies and drank (love the 12 year old whiskey I got for Christmas).  I won’t bore anyone with my goals/resolutions, but every year I’m in that crowd of people who do it.  I know there’s really no reason why it can’t be done any other time of the year, but it’s a nice way to start off the year.

Slowly I’ve been going through some of the photos I took while my family was here.  Below are 3 that I worked up.  A couple are from me on my dads equipment and 1 is from my dad on his equipment.

Coyote and Raven

I wish I could claim this photo because it’s the best one that we got, in my opinion, but it’s my dads.  We came upon this scene as we crested a hill on a dirt road.

Golden Eagle

This one I did take.  First picture of a golden eagle, but I wish the power lines weren’t there.  Perhaps I’ll venture out again and see if I can get him without the power lines.

Family 2007

Here’s my side of the family.  My brother and his dog Chi-Chi, my mom and Yogi, me with Frodo, my wife with Tonks and my dad.

Nice to see everyone!!! Great, great photos!! Beautiful eagle….I was so bummed about missing the shots of the “bald eagle” the other day….they would’ve been good. Oh well…I guess I should just work harder and earn the many thousands of pennies I’d need for a really good lens!

Happy New Year to you and yours! Hope your wife is feeling better!

Lujza - Thank you. As for a lens, get something used. That’s what I did. I got a 100-300 Sigma and a 1.4 extender. The Used sigma as $700 I believe. I’m sure you could pick something up like that.

Well, I was going to ask you what kind of camera you use to take such beautiful pictures, but I see from your previous comments that it must be something rather fancy. I don’t have the time for different lenses while chasing around a toddler.

Chas - I have a used Canon 10D which is a DSLR. And your right…probably not good for chasing a toddler, but as she gets older…it will be well worth it IMO.
