Death

Yeah an ominous word to lead with, but something I’ve been dealing with the past week. My grandfather on my moms side passed away 1 week ago yesterday. It was and it wasn’t un-expected.  It had been forever since I had been to a funeral…and I hope it’s a long time before I go to another one.  Despite this situation there are things to be learned from such things. My observations are:

  • Live life!  Shouldn’t have to explain this one!
  • Take lots of pictures of you and your family.  When someone passes on this is all that there is to remember them by.

Enough of that.

I finished up my mega diet last week, right before I took off (Friday).  I haven’t stepped into a gym or on a scale since then.  When I weighed in on Friday morning I was down something like 12 pounds over 4 weeks…and a lot of that was fat.  I’ve got some more to go until I’ll be happy. The hard part is going to be eating properly and not a lot of junk.

On the investing front, things are looking up.  I cashed out a few positions today that were up 18 and 30 percent respectively.  Now if I can just continue on this for the rest of the year I’ll be pretty happy.  Oh yes I’ve had a MAJOR loser.  That hopefully won’t happen again!

Well I hope to do some normal posting later this week.

Lujza - Thank you for the condolences. Weight loss is nice, but I’ve still got a little bit to go until I’m happy!
